Christmas Island Relay on Dec. 31

The 22nd Annual Christmas Island Relay will take place on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000. The run will start in front of Pacific Islands Club (PIC) and finish at the last Command Post in Marpi. The course follows Beach road and is 13.7 miles long.

Starting time is 6:00 a.m. sharp, with registration at 5:15 a.m. in front of PIC south parking lot. Teams are made up of a maximum of five runners, each running a minimum of two-one mile increments.

This year an open division will be included. The senior division must still have any two of the following or a combination thereof: two persons over 40 years, two females, or two persons under 16 years. Each team must have its own support vehicle and drinking water. Prizes will be awarded after the race.

Entry fee of $50.00 for open and senior, and $25.00 for juniors payable at the final entry on Dec. 31st.
