Chief Criminal Prosecutor Kevin Lynch has filed charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery and criminal mischief against Rogelio A. Alegre for hitting his girlfriend with a hammer.

Investigation conducted by Police Officer Joseph Benavente revealed that Mr. Alegre came to the house of his girlfriend Nida Nabong on Dec. 8, 2000 at around 12:00 a.m. in Garapan. He appeared drunk as he even threw a bottle of beer on the floor, and like a real macho, demanded to know where the girlfriend came from.

Mr. Alegre apparently did not believe Ms. Nabong’s reply that she came from her aunt’s workplace. He grabbed a hammer and hit her knee. Not contented, he destroyed some of the things inside the girlfriend’s house, threw the wall clock, and hammered the microwave.

Mr. Alegre left the house at around 1:30 a.m., but was later arrested by police. A $6,500 bail was recommended for his temporary.

Meanwhile, the Attorney General’s Office has filed charges of sexual abuse of a child before the Superior Court against Gener A. Genoso, 30. According to the complaint, Mr. Genoso had sexual contact with the victim identified only as P.K.C., who is under the age of 16.
