Inspections note High compliance on sanitation standards
Sanitary inspections conducted by the Bureau of Environmental Health disclosed an increasing number of restaurants and similar establishments are in strict compliance with CNMI laws on sanitation.
Recent series of inspections noted that at least 13 restaurants and establishments were given excellent grading by BEH inspectors. These are: Mom’s Spot Fresh Market, Kagman; Oasis Discount Store, San Roque; Modern Stationary of Refreshment, San Jose; Lians Retail Store, Lower Base; Kainan Sa Isla Restaurant, Garapan; 4F’s Ihaw BBQ, Garapan; Len’s Game Parlor Bar, Susupe; Len’s Bar, Susupe; Dai-Ichi Hotel Main Kitchen, Garapan; Teppan Yaki Restaurant, Garapan; Japanese Restaurant, Garapan; Chinese Restaurant, Garapan; and Banquet Hall Restaurant, Garapan.
Establishments that were given a Grade “B” are: New Siloam Market, Tanapag; Kwik Trip Store, Tanapag; and Town & Country Restaurant, Gualo Rai.
BEH inspectors did not see the need to temporarily close any restaurant or establishments for serious violation of the CNMI Health and Sanitation Standards.
The environmental health bureau has been conducting regular inspection of restaurants and similar establishments throughout the Northern Marianas to ensure strict compliance to health and sanitation standards.
Some establishments have been ordered closed in the past due to serious violations although most of them were only shut down temporarily.
