Every Thursday night, from 6pm to 10pm, Garapan’s Third Street is transformed into an open pedestrian mall as the Street Market’s many food vendors’ wares send tantalizing aromas into the air and the local entertainment thrills patrons, local residents and visitors alike.

The Garapan Street Market provides a safe venue for both residents and visitors who are looking for an alternative adventure during the week that will provide them the opportunity to enjoy great food and entertainment.

The entertainment changes weekly from local dance troupes to multi-cultural groups offering an array of fire-knife dancing to audience participation in mock Polynesian hip shaking.

Performers such as the Tekanahao Dance Group, Aloa Ali Dance Group and Boyz to Mix put on skits that amuse and delight the weekly patrons to the Street Market.

Food vendors who set up shop on a weekly basis to sell their wares include Hong Kong Restaurant, Fong’s Bakery, Poon’s Restaurant, Go Young BBQ, Dela Cruz Pastries, Thai House Restaurant, Calvo’s Farmer’s Market, Lyn’s BBQ, Hula Girl and others.

Other vendors who participate on a regular basis are Leyah’s Crafts, Rajam Car Accessories, Kings Jewelry, Serenity Handmade Collection, Native Bags, Sawadee, Queens Boutique, Spring Woods, Silver Sterling and Saipan Noni.

Fresh fruits and produce also available from Tudela Produce, Fejeran Produce, and Osborne’s Fruits and Produce. Live tilapia and shrimp are available from Landscapers Micronesia.

Other items for sale include apigigi, fresh coconut, fritada, bonelos. Tables and chairs are set up for everyone to enjoy dinner at the Garapan Street Market.

For interested parties, the Garapan Street Market vendor booths are still available for local handicrafts, gifts and clothing. Vendor booths range from $33.50 to $39.00. Applications for vendor booths are available at the MVA Office.
