In recognition of March as the American Red Cross Month, and to thank the community for their continued support to the NMI chapter, Red Cross offered a free CPR and First Aid Certification course last March 31.

As the largest humanitarian organization in the United States, the Red Cross depends on volunteers to accomplish the organization’s mission — “Providing relief to victims of disasters and helping people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.”

Thanks to the committed Red Cross volunteer instructors: Ty Izuka, Larry Lee, Rolando Diaz, Lito Gutierrez, and Tim Fasca, Saipan can boast 44 more members of the community certified in Adult CPR/First Aid. Red Cross Health and Safety Committee Chair Larry Lee said, “We are now better prepared to help prevent and respond to emergencies”.

For more information on Health and Safety courses offered by the Red Cross, or if you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact the Chapter office at 234-3459.
