Practice plus driving range gave Alvin Hofschneider the March Ace of the Month title.

Not having the opportunity to participate in the RGA 2000 Club Champion really did hurt Hofschneider after qualifying a year earlier.

The path to 2001 Club Champion was to visit the Dandan Driving range once a week and work on his mechanics. According to Hofschneider, it’s early in the season and players are still trying to get their golf game together and it’s exciting.

Every tournament is wide open even the top players and struggling so higher handicappers this is our chance.

Putting together consistent scores of 43 in the front nine and 42 back nine for 85 gross score. The strength of Hofschneider’s game was his consistent drives and brilliant course management.

Instead of attacking the tight pin placements placing the ball on the big greens was his main objective. With his 20 handicap Hofschneider embrace the RGA March title with an astonishing 7 under par net 65 to beat the qualifying score net 69 established by Serafin Pablo.

Ben Duenas finished second place base on score card playoff with identical net score with CUC Club Champion Ben “Tee Me Up In The Fairways,” Norita with a 69 net. Congratulations to all the winners.

For the closest to the pin contest Hofschneider was the favorite on hole #3 and Jess Wabol edge out 12 others on hole #14.

The April qualifying tournament is schedule for April 7 at the Marianas Country Club. Tee Time is set for 6:44am, all interested individuals should report in at 6:30am for registration. Space is limited to 16 pax only.
