Aloha to launch nonstop service to Kwajalein Atoll
HONOLULU ( PIDP/CPIS) — Aloha Airlines has announced the first non-stop service between Hawai’i and Kwajalein atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
It is Aloha’s second weekly flight to Kwajalein.
Other flights to the atoll stop off at Majuro and Johnston Island before arriving at Kwajalein.
The new Honolulu-Kwajalein route will begin April 9, said Tom Yoneyama, director of corporate communications at Aloha Airlines.
Aloha flight 353 will depart Honolulu on Mondays at 3pm and arrive in Kwajalein on Tuesdays at 6:34pm. The airplane then will continue from Kwajalein at 7:20pm and arrive in Majuro at 8:12pm.
On the return, Aloha flight 354 will depart Majuro on Wednesdays at 9:45am and arrive in Kwajalein at 10:35am. It then will continue from Kwajalein at 11:25am for a Honolulu arrival on Tuesdays at 6:53pm.
“These flights will have the distinction of being the first direct flights from Hawai’i to Kwajalein atoll in the Marshall Islands,” said Aloha’s public relations manager Julie King in a press release. “In addition, Aloha operates a weekly flight (Thursday-Friday) to the Marshall Islands with a stopover on Johnston Island.”
Aloha will use a Boeing “Next Generation” 737-700 aircraft on the route, which is designed for long-haul flights in the Pacific region.
The new aircraft is equipped with all-leather seats and are configured in two classes of service, with 12 first-class seats and 112 coach seats.
The airline said the aircraft will have more leg room for passengers in both cabins and wider seats in first-class.
Aloha Airlines has been serving the Pacific for the past 12 years.
Aloha provides service to Johnston Island, Midway, Christmas Island in Kiribati, and the Marshall Islands (Kwajalein and Majuro) from Honolulu.
