Driver slips into stroke

A driver who apparently struck a bicyclist along the 2W Gualo Rai intersection Thursday ended up at the local hospital’s Intensive Care Unit after suffering a stroke.

Police are still investigating who the victim is in the auto-bicycle crash.

According to preliminary reports, the bicyclist, Ricardo Tesaro, treading on the road edge shoulder of the south bound lane approached the traffic signal light intersection when he was side-swept by a 1995 Toyota T100.

The vehicle operated by Henry K. Pangelinan was traveling on the outer bound lane when it collided with the bicycle.

Police reported that the bicyclist sustained minor scratches on some areas his body but refused medical treatment at the accident scene.

Meanwhile, Mr. Pangelinan, a resident of Dandan slipped into a possible stroke and was immediately admitted to the Commonwealth Health Center.

Department of Public Safety spokesperson Cecil Celes said authorities are still trying to determine whose fault it was.
