A total of 94 students of the Sister Remedios Early Childhood Development Center had a bash yesterday morning during the school’s 52nd Commencement Exercise at the Mount Carmel Cathedral.

With parents, relatives, school officials, and House Speaker Benigno R. Fitial on hand, the students, dressed in white and sky blue gowns, were visibly excited, knowing well that all eyes were on them.

Fitial, who served as the keynote speaker, was a member of the first graduating class of the institute in 1952.

The graduating students, making up five homeroom classes, were each presented with various awards aside from their diplomas.

Of the 94 students, 70 were recipients of the Educational Excellence Award. Other awards included the Educational Achievement, which had 23 recipients, and Citizenship, which had 79 recipients.

Awards and diplomas were presented by Sister Remedios P. Castro and school principal Sister Mary Louise Balzarini.

Already producing reasons for parents to be proud, the students continued to put smiles on the faces of the audience and guests after acing a spectacular performance of the song The More We Read.

In her remarks, Balzarini commended the parents for their support to the students and the school during the school year. She also commended the students for their achievements.

Responsible for shaping the students during the past school year were teachers Carmen Pangelinan, Margarita Matagolai, Concepcion Borja, Lourdes Leong, and Victoria Aguon.
