Support sought for Liberation Royal Court
Fundraising efforts by the eight contestants in the 2004 Liberation Royal Court are now in full swing, with the money collected going to the Saipan Mayor’s Office.
Queen’s Committee chair Rose A. Hocog said funds from the candidates’ fundraisers will be used by the Mayor’s Office to buy equipment necessary for the community.
“The girls will be doing fundraisers for their candidacy, but they will not solely benefit as the community will benefit as well,” she said.
Among the fundraisers is a Luau organized for Lady Leiana K. Ogumoro, which will be held today, June 12, at Kit Seman’s residence along Middle Road Chalan Lau Lau near the old Chamolinian Mart establishment.
Tickets for the event, which will take place from 6-10pm, are sold at $15 apiece.
Hocog said the event features live entertainment in the form of cultural dancing and music.
Hocog said more fundraisers are being planned by the other candidates.
