PTC sends eight to Michelle Branch’s Guam concert
Pacific Trading Co. will be flying four winners and a friend each to Guam for an all-expense paid trip to witness Michelle Branch live in concert on July 27.
Sylvia Cabrera and Sixto K. Igisomar won Friday night’s contest at the Hard Rock Café, enabling them to go to Guam with a friend each to see the concert.
PTC held another raffle drawing last night at Hard Rock. The names of the two other winners were not available as of press time. With each winner bringing a friend each, this will bring the total number of persons going to Guam to eight.
Besides watching the concert for free, the prize included airfare, transportation, and hotel accommodations.
Michelle Branch will be performing on Guam as part of her Asian Tour that will begin today in Osaka, Japan and will conclude in Honolulu, Hawaii on July 29.
Pacific Trading, distributor of Miller Lite Beer, brought over from Guam the Miller Lite Girls, along with Mr. Simms, Power 98’s disk jockey at the Hard Rock Café-Guam, who hosted the Summer Bash.
Representatives from Pacific Trading, Hard Rock, and Magic 100.3 were all over Hard Rock last night, assisting customers in the event.
“The planning for this event took almost a month,” said Kotwal M. Singh, regional executive chef for Hard Rock.
The event was also broadcasted live over Magic 100.3, with disc jockey Robby Rob anchoring the show.
To qualify for the contest, raffle tickets were given to customers for every purchase of a Miller Lite beer or a Mickey’s. Three tickets were then randomly selected and those holding them were asked to go on stage, where they had to compete for the ultimate prize—the free trip to Guam.
The game consisted of a rope tied to a stick on one end, and a large ring on the other. Three empty Miller Lite bottles were placed inside a box. Using the stick, the participants had to put the ring through the bottle and lift it to a stand. Cabrera and Igisomar aced the contest to cop the prize.
Cabrera said she is not sure yet as to who she plans to bring to Guam with her, while Igisomar was proud to give his friend the opportunity to attend the concert. “I gave my winnings to Ervin Babauta,” he said.
Among the guests spotted during the Summer Bash were Lt. Gov. Diego Benavente, Marianas Visitors Authority managing director Vicky Benavente, and PTC general manager Charles Cepeda. (Cassie Dlg Fejeran)
