MAN STABBED AT UPPER MIHA VILLE
A man was stabbed in the back early Thursday morning while walking at the Upper Miha Ville housing area.
Police report indicated that the victim, 21-year-old Oncho Alafanso, was walking by Upper Miha housing unit M-1 when an unidentified man approached him and hit him on the back with the right hand.
The suspect then ran toward house unit M-2 before disappearing.
DPS acting public information officer Captain Pete C. Muna said the victim, at first, was unaware of being stabbed.
“The victim stated that he did not know he was stabbed until he felt a sharp pain on the left side of his back,” he said. “He reached to feel his back, only to find blood on his hands.”
Muna said that responding officers attempted to interview the victim who, however, could give “very little detail of the incident.”
“[The victim] would often close his eyes to sleep. According to the responding officer, the victim was too intoxicated to give details about the incident,” he said.
The incident was reported at about 12:38am.

MAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED THEFT
The Department of Public Safety took into custody a 54-year-old man after he was reportedly caught stealing by the staff of a business establishment last Thursday.
According to police report, the suspect, Richard Seidler, was arrested and detained after stealing an item valued at $7.49 at Ace Hardware in Gualo Rai.
DPS acting public information officer Captain Pete C. Castro said the suspect was observed by security personnel as he entered and headed to the plumbing section of the establishment.
“As they were watching, the suspect took an item and opened it with his mouth, and then held the item in his hands,” Muna said. “Moments later, he placed the item in his left pocket.”
The report did not indicate the item taken.
Muna said other security personnel were notified of the incident, who then approached the suspect.
“The suspect was already outside the store when one of the security personnel stopped him. The suspect was escorted to the office and told to empty his pocket,” he said.
The report indicated that the item was recovered before police were notified of the incident. Police were called at about 1:17pm
