A man is facing contempt and other charges for allegedly committing offenses while on probation, court records showed.

The Attorney General’s Office filed criminal charges against Marco S. Fitial, who allegedly burglarized a woman’s Saipan dwelling and attempted to steal valuable items from her.

In an amended criminal information filed with the Superior Court yesterday, Assistant Attorney General Grant D. Sanders charged Fitial with a count each of contempt of court, burglary, and attempted theft.

“While on an order of probation and/or an order of bail, [Fitial] committed serious violation of Commonwealth law, in direct violation of such court order of probation,” Sanders stated in the information.

Fitial allegedly burglarized the dwelling of one Delores Manglona last Oct. 22.

Sanders said Fitial rifled through a diaper bag in an apparent attempt to steal something valuable.
