What happened to the water?

There has been no water in parts of Kagman for almost a week now yet there has been no word from Maeda Pacific or CUC about when the pumps will be fixed. As I understand the matter, Maeda Pacific Corp. was contracted to install the three pumps that are now broken and the maintenance hasn’t been transferred to CUC because the system is still being tested. Well, guess what, Maeda Pacific failed the test big time and I guess that’s why there has been no public notice about the problem—nothing on TV, radio nor in the newspapers. The fire station doesn’t even have water. What happens if there is a fire? Even when the pumps were working I couldn’t get water on the second floor of my home in Kagman III unless it was late at night, which further illustrates something is wrong with the system even when it’s working.

The only lucky people in Kagman III are the ones who live on the hill below the fire station as they have gravity working in their favor. CUC does a great job of informing us about problems when a typhoon hits but they have let many people in Kagman down with this water issue. I do want to thank CUC for putting up the emergency water access this weekend that is located at the Kagman I & II turnoff but only a few people know about it. If people had been informed that the problem would take a week or more, we could have prepared and adapted to the problem but we have been misled to believe it will be repaired anytime soon.

I hope that CUC will visit some of the homes once the pumps are fixed to see for themselves the pressure coming into our homes because it is too low and Maeda Pacific shouldn’t be paid until our homes are receiving the proper pressure even at the peak time of usage.

I’m also concerned to learn that the “newly installed” pumps are breaking down even before they are even turned over to CUC. What does that say about the future? Maeda Pacific and CUC are both at fault because CUC should have made sure Maeda Pacific had a back-up plan to prevent us from being in the very position we are in now.

Thanks for what you did CUC but excuse me for being one angry customer who hasn’t had water in almost a week and wasn’t told! I’m sure there are others in Kagman who feel like I do. I realize machines break down but it could have been handled better and I hope both companies will do what is necessary to assure this doesn’t happen again to any of CUC’s customers. One people, one direction and one tank of water, please!
