The Attorney General’s Office filed with the Superior Court Wednesday another case of sexual abuse of a minor.

Prosecutors charged 23-year-old Eric Lizama of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl.

Lizama allegedly had sex with the victim on at least two occasions in July and August earlier this year.

The charges against Lizama include two counts each of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree and disturbing the peace.

Also last Wednesday, the AGO, in a separate case, lodged similar charges against 30-year-old Melvin Dela Cruz for victimizing another teenager aged 16. Dela Cruz’s alleged victim was only 15 years old when the alleged sexual abuse happened in November 2003 and May 2004.

Additionally, the AGO charged Dela Cruz with two counts of assault and battery for having sexual contact with the victim without the latter’s consent.
