A man is asking the Superior Court to have himself and three children tested for DNA comparison, claiming paternity and suing the legal father of the minors.

If his request is granted, the court will also direct the legal father to undergo DNA analysis.

The man brought the civil action in court pursuant to the CNMI’s Uniform Parentage Act.

More than a year after the natural mother of the children died, the man told the court that he and the woman had sex on various occasions from between 1997 to the date of her death. He claimed that the sexual relations led to the woman’s pregnancies.

During this time, however, the woman was married to the defendant, who was listed as the children’s father in their birth certificates. To date, the defendant has custody of the children.

The man asked the court to establish paternity, as well as custody and support for the children.
