The Department of Public Safety is currently seeking assistance from the public on several crimes that occurred recently.

DPS spokesman Eric F. David said yesterday that authorities are still investigating the recent homicide incident that left one man dead at the J&C Poker establishment along Middle Road China Town last Jan. 2.

The suspect used a sharp object to stab the 38-year-old victim, before fleeing with $7,000 in cash. The victim died of several stab wounds and loss of blood. His identity has yet to be disclosed.

Tips are also needed for a rape incident last Saturday afternoon. A 23-year-old Chinese female was raped by an unknown male at the REM Center Hotel.

The victim was at the Carolinian Utt beach side in Garapan when a man approached and started a conversation with her. Two other men then approached and joined the conversation.

During the course of the conversation, the suspect told the victim that he has a lot of money, a nice house, and can marry her and give her a U.S. passport.

The suspect and victim were then dropped off at the hotel where the man reportedly raped her six times.

David said the suspect stood about 5’9” tall and had a large frame.

Also, a man is wanted for a robbery incident early Sunday morning at the Yu Li Computer establishment in Chalan Piao.

The man, who has yet to be identified, stormed into the establishment with a Ruger .22 caliber rifle and demanded money.

The suspect managed to take $15 belonging to a female victim, Li Hu Li.

A struggled ensued between the owner and the suspect and the suspect lost control of the weapon. He ran toward Joeten and the victim shot at him. It was not known if the suspect was actually hit.

David said the suspect was wearing a black mask and a camouflage shirt.

Anyone with information on the mentioned crimes is urged to contact the DPS Criminal Investigation Bureau at 664-9042.
