‘Nametags’ making a name for itself in branded apparel
Want to know the latest fad in clothing? Go to Middle Road across the Garapan Central Park and you will find Nametags.
Nametags, a clothes shop in Garapan, offers trendy apparel at reasonably low prices, with its array of popular apparel brands from the Philippines.
“Most of the products we carry are branded. That is why we thought of using the name Nametags,” said Corazon P. Ada, the shop’s owner.
Ada established the shop in December 2002 by first offering children’s clothing. The names Oshkosh, Ginger Snaps, Power Puff, Hello Kitty, Sponge Bob, and Barbie, among many others, filled the racks of the shop during the business venture’s infancy.
According to Ada, her shop sources out its merchandise from licensed dealers of authentic apparel brands in the Philippines, which also wholesale their products in major shopping malls such as Robinson’s.
Thus, she said the shop could sell quality merchandise at competitive prices.
The business performed well, according to Ada, and continues to survive despite going through hard economic times brought on by the Iraq war in 2003.
“I put up the shop so the public could go to a place where they can afford the products,” Ada said.
Beginning October last year, the shop expanded its merchandise lines to include clothing for men and women. Among the brands carried by Nametags are Dickies, Lee, and RJ’s.
Ada said she would also bring in Bench items to the shop. “It’s not only for teenagers. It’s for everybody.”
The shop opens from 3pm to 7pm from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays, it opens from 11am to 7pm. The shop also opens on Sundays from 1pm to 5pm.
