Continental Micronesia gets props for on-time performance
Continental Micronesia’s on-time performance in 2004 rivaled that of major U.S. carriers, as 93.8 percent of the regional carrier’s flights arrived within 14 minutes of scheduled arrival time.
The Department of Transportation in its February 2005 Air Travel Consumer Report reported an industry average of 71.6 percent of flights arriving within 14 minutes of schedule. Further, Continental Micronesia completed 99.1 percent of its scheduled available seat miles or ASMs.
“Consistently outstanding operational performance month after month is credited entirely to the 1,500 professional men and women of Continental Micronesia,” said Mark Erwin, president and chief executive officer of Continental Micronesia.
Some notable achievements in 2004 include the following:
* 95.5 percent of flights departed within 15 minutes of schedule
* The airline had 315 days with no flight cancellations in 2004, including 48 consecutive days without a cancellation
* 100 percent completion factor in July 2004, a heavy traffic month
* Baggage handling improved in 2004 to 99.9 percent versus 99.8 percent in 2003
