More highways needed

I would like to extend my congratulations to Saipan regarding the approval of funding for its highways. I understand that the government plans on creating a new highway that connects Talofofo to Marpi. That sounds like a good plan, but I think that the government should also consider connecting Kagman to Talofofo and Laolao beach.

The current road to Kagman is in really poor condition and is a dangerous route when it rains. Connecting Kagman to San Vicente would cut down the driving time, as well as accidents. I would take the shortcut through Laolao beach if the road was paved. Besides, majority of the Chamorro population live on Kagman since you have to be Chamorro in order to attain land there.

Kagman is probably the biggest village on Saipan and the people there deserve a more accessible road. So many accidents have been occurring on the back road due to its poor condition and awful design. Some of them are fatal accidents. How many more accidents will it take before action is taken by our leaders? Please consider this option seriously. It is for the betterment of all the people of Saipan.
