GFT steps up to the plate with new website
If you are an active CNMI member of the Guam Federation of Teachers or a working person in the Northern Mariana Island looking for information on issues important to you, GFT has stepped up to the plate with a comprehensive new website—www.NMIteachers.com.
“The GFT, the oldest and largest non-profit labor organization in the Marianas, is excited to be in a position to extend a helping hand to our brothers and sisters in the CNMI,” said GFT president Matt Rector. “After 40 years of service to the educators of Guam, GFT is hopeful that we can become a unifying force for education in all of the Marianas. Through this website we can bring information to the NMI teachers to help them improve the quality of education for the children of all of the Marianas and the quality of life for their families.”
NMIteachers.com will be updated regularly and includes a full version of the latest GFT NEWS online.
In developing this new website GFTs team incorporated features on issues of importance to its NMI members, including special forms for sign up, and NMI benefit information. The GFT team’s focus is on creating a positive change for the NMI teachers and their families through new and innovative approaches to problems.
“GFT’s new voice in the NMI is our way to get out the message to the community that we are in this for the long haul.” Rector said.
GFT’s vice president Tim Fedenko said he views this new website as a natural extension of GFT’s “community first’ philosophy.”
Rector is inviting CNMI teachers to submit comments by contacting Todd Baum, GFT’s director of Membership Development, at (671) 735-4390 or e-mail tbaum@gftunion.com. (PR)
