The Immanuel United Methodist Church on Saipan will be observing its 10th anniversary this weekend and, as part of celebrations, the church will be sponsoring a Public Peace Vigil on Friday.

The vigil will be held from 6:30pm to 8pm at the American Memorial Park Amphitheater.

Immanuel United Methodist Church pastor Rev. Ewing W. Carroll Jr. said the vigil is non-political and non-religious.

“Our common bond is working for world peace, regardless of nationality, age, ethnicity or culture,” he said.

There will be activities for both young and old:

Lighting individual peace candles;

“Fishing” for peace—commemorative bookmarks with peace quotes from famous people; and

Writing/or drawing peace messages on a large peace banner.

For more information, call Pastor Carroll at 670-322-6158.
