SKN, Mwaliyas to join forces for all star bout
After facing each other in a best-of-five championship series in the World Organized Rocball High School League, newly crowned champions Mwaliyas and regular season champ SKN will put their rivalry aside and team up better the High School All-Stars chances in the World Championships series set to commence shortly after a champion is crowned in the WOR Community League.
Rocball creator Jim Feger said both captains from Mwaliyas and SKN will select players from their squads to make up the High School All-Stars.
Meanwhile, the WOR Community League’s regular season is scheduled to conclude soon. Teams competing in the league are two-time defending champions Ghasias Brothers, powerhouse Shag, and newcomer Just One.
Players from each of the three teams will make up the Community All-Stars.
Expected to be a shoo-in is Ghasias hard-pounder Fred Pelisamen, who has dominated the Rocball scene this year and is currently the only master blaster of the season after scoring in every possible way [ace, xunk, kee, goal, and jam] in the Brothers’ bout against Just One two weeks ago.
Official team rosters will be released at a later date.
Mwaliyas defeated SKN 3-1 in the championship series.
Pedro Iguel had 20 points in Game 1 to lead Mwaliyas to a 49-36 victory. SKN leveled the series by taking Game 2, 42-27, highlighted by a game-ending goal off a block by Dior Jones in o-kon.
Mwaliyas then dominated the rest of the way, taking the next two games for the crown.
