Following the success of this past weekend’s Tee-Ball clinic at American Memorial Park, Saipan Little League Baseball president Joe Salas announced that there will be a meeting tomorrow at 6pm in the conference room of the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium in Oleai.

After the large turn out of interested players confirmed their notion of the mass appeal of the fledgling program, the organizers are now looking to assemble a team of managers, coaches, assistant coaches, and volunteers to help create a solid foundation.

According to Salas, anyone interested in donating their time in the capacity of a member of a coaching staff or as a volunteer is welcome to attend tomorrow night’s meeting. The Tee-Ball Program is for boys and girls between the ages five and eight-years-old, and the proposed Minor League will be for boys and girls from nine to 12 years old, with the exception of those currently playing on a Little League team.

The SLLBA also plans to create a girls fast-pitch softball program for females younger than 18 years of age. The players will be divided into separate groups based upon leagues much as the current Little League system does for the boys.

As a reminder, the SLLBA board of directors will meet tonight in the Ada Gym conference room at 5pm, and there will be a general membership meeting this Friday, May 6, at 6pm.

For more information about tomorrow night’s meeting, the SLLBA, or volunteering for any of the activities, contact Lillian Ada by calling 664-2502 or SLLBA president Joe S. Salas at 322-3445.
