The Micronesian Repatriation Association lauded the Commonwealth Health Center’s hemodialysis unit for the treatment undergone recently on Saipan by its chairperson, Choken Ginoza.

The Okinawa, Japan-based group showed its appreciation in a letter addressed to Department of Public Health Secretary James U. Hofschneider sent last month through Pacific Development Inc. general manager Yoichi Matsumura.

PDI was the tour company that made the arrangements for the trip of Ginoza’s group to Saipan and subsequently facilitated Ginoza’s treatment at CHC’s hemodialysis unit.

“Mr. Ginoza is extending his personal appreciation to his attendant nurse Susan and Ms. Granya Shearer for their professionalism and all the staff at the hemodialysis unit for their untiring support and warm customer service rendered round the clock.”

Matsumura said the chair would return to the CNMI with his colleagues for the annual memorial trip to Saipan in early June this year.

He said they are hoping the new hemodialysis equipment would be operational by the time Ginoza’s next visit and that he would be given the same quality treatment.

Ginoza’s next treatment schedule is on June 1 at 1pm with last shift at 8pm on June 3, said Matsumura.

Matsumura said he furnished a copy of the letter to Gov. Juan N. Babauta, Lt. Gov. Diego T. Benavente, Marianas Visitors Authority managing director Vicky Benavente and other medical officials at CHC.

The Department of Public Health recently held its topping off ceremony for a new facility that would house at least eight major offices and departments, including a new hemodialysis unit, an adult clinic, tuberculosis clinic, obstetrician and gynecologist clinic, and a children’s clinic, among others.

Administrative offices would include medical supply rooms, electrical and mechanical, reverse osmosis, communications, and others. The new facility is targeted to open its service summer of next year.
