Seven more students were selected to join the elite roster of participants for the Junior Statesmen Summer School Program.

Joining the list are Mary Grace Ermitanio, Coral DLG. Wonenberg, Mollie Atinisom, Jacqueline Li, Benita Cruz, Daryl Dela Cruz, and Denise Guiao.

Other participants are: Edward Camacho, Emily Jang, Semona Ann Igama, Nathaniel Algaier, Steven Johnson, Stephanie Ann Arnold, Nicholas Shoemake, Rafferty Jess Dris, Nicole Torres, Caisha Vanna Sablan, Tawny Palacios, Michelle Milagroso, Sheila Ann Ho, Jonathan Ada, Virginia Castro, Ralph Buenaventura, Jennifer Benavente, Sara Ko, Min Kyoung Kim, Marilou Gariguez, Ferleen Esmundo, Jacqueline Cepeda, Matthew Deleon Guerrero, Travis Calvo, Halina Palacios, Roberto Naraja, John Del Rosario, Nicollete Villagomez, Gretchen Smith, Erly Dalan, Madelline Jacob, Edward Sablan, and Charlie Atalig.

Atalig, Esmundo and Igama are currently the recipients of the Department of the Interior’s full scholarship for the 2005 summer school program this year.

Participants who were not awarded the limited scholarships were given assistance by Aqua Resort Club recently worth $50,000, which would be used to alleviate cost of the trip to the universities of their choice.

Office of Insular Affairs program coordinator Christi Omengebar said earlier that they are still waiting for the assistance of the local government for the summer program.

She said the Saipan Delegation set aside $50,000 to assist students in attending the program last year but this year the students are seeking tuition assistance from government officials on the islands.

“They hope to persuade governmental leaders that by providing financial assistance to their future leaders, they are ensuring good government for years to come,” said Omengebar. Full tuition of the summer school program is worth $3,750.
