RGA goodwill golf on May 28
The Refaluwasch Golf Association Goodwill Golf Tournament will be held on May 28 at the Coral Ocean Point Resort golf course.
RGA president Jess Wabol confirmed the date and venue of the golf competition the other day. He said check-in time for the tournament is 11am and tee-off is set an hour later at noon.
He said entrance fee for the event is $50, which is exclusive of green fees. The number of entries will determine cash prizes for the top three that emerge in the swing-off.
Aside from the top three net scores, RGA would also award prizes to closest to the pin on the 3rd, 7th, 12th, and 14th holes.
Wabol also said he has invited the Chamorro Golf Club of Guam to play in the tournament. He said other interested golfers from other Saipan golf associations are also welcome to join the competition.
The awards ceremony and accompanying banquet for the tournament would be held at John Tagabuel’s residence in Fina Sisu.
Wabol also continued to invite golf players on Saipan to help the islands’ youth baseball program by participating in a fundraising golf tournament set for June 11 also at the COP.
Wabol said proceeds from the event will be used to purchase trophies, medals, and other mementos for players in the Saipan and Tinian Little League programs.
He also said money raised from the event would also defray the cost of hosting the Asia-Pacific Regional Little League Tournament on Tinian in the next couple of months.
