H-Mart marks anniversary with giveaways
H-Mart supermarket is celebrating its 6th anniversary on Saipan this month with raffle prizes and discounted prices—its way of showing gratitude to the families who have patronized it over the years.
H-Mart general manager Son Sung Rock said the supermarket would be giving away appliances and other merchandise.
Purchases at the store entitle customers to earn points that have equivalent prize giveaways, such as rice cooker, cup set, stuffed toy, among many others.
For every $20 purchase, a customer gets one raffle coupon. Rock said the supermarket would be holding raffle draws every Saturday this month to give away prizes.
The grand raffle draw would be on June 30, Rock said. Prizes for the grand raffle include assorted home appliances such as television set, video camcorder, vacuum cleaner, microwave oven and electric dish cleaner.
“Give away forever—my motto is like that,” Rock said. He expressed gratitude to local residents who have been patronizing H-Mart since the supermarket began its Saipan operations on Middle Road, Gualo Rai on June 25, 1999.
“A customer told me: ‘I like it here because this is family-style,’” Rock said. He said that H-Mart has been catering to families of diverse ethnicities, including Chamorros, Filipinos, Koreans, Chinese, among others.
Delta Trading Company, a family-controlled corporation, operates H-Mart supermarket. Its diverse merchandise comes from the United States and Asia, among others.
