CTSI Logistics and Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach joined nine other Saipan businesses in being honored for their continued efforts and commitment to hire and train resident workers.

Marianas Resort, Joeten Motors, IT&E, Aqua Resort Club, World Resort, McDonald’s, KCNM-KZMI, Duty Free Saipan and Pacific Islands Club completed the roster of awardees that were honored by the Workforce Investment Agency during a May 20 dinner reception that coincided with the Marianas Roundtable.

WIA executive director Jesse Stein and WIA board chair Patrick Calvo gave out the awards to the honorees.

In his remarks, Stein said his agency is pleased to recognize Saipan businesses that continue to develop members of the local workforce by giving them opportunities to learn and to enhance their skills.

WIA honored the 11 Saipan companies for their “contribution, commitment and partnership with the Workforce Investment Agency in providing training and employment opportunities to the people of the CNMI. WIA recognizes the effort of these companies in providing employment to the local workforce which is vital [to] the economic development of the CNMI.”

CTSI Saipan station manager Rene Magalong and Dai-Ichi Hotel’s Human Resources Manager Eileen Guerrero received the awards for their respective companies.

“CTSI is proud to accept this award. Our human resources department takes a lot of effort to make sure that we have room to train and develop the knowledge and skills of our resident workers. It is challenging work but we reap our rewards when we see the people we have trained move ahead in their chosen career,” said Magalong.

CTSI Logistics and Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach are affiliates of Tan Holdings Corp., a diverse holding company operating in 14 industries on Saipan, Guam and in Micronesia. (PR)
