Korean trader hogtied, killed
A 60-year-old Korean businessman was found dead and hogtied inside a room in his own apartment building in Chalan Laulau early yesterday morning, the Department of Public Safety said.
DPS spokesman Eric David said the man owns the SRC building apartment on Middle Road across the corner of Quartermaster Road. He refused to disclose the victim’s identity.
David said the victim sustained external injuries. He did not specify if gunshot, stabbing or other means caused the injuries. He said the victim was still hogtied when police arrived at the crime scene.
David said the victim’s wife discovered that the trader was murdered at about 3:05am yesterday after arriving from a trip in China.
Police said the victim was supposed to pick up his wife at the airport. When he failed to show up, the wife reportedly proceeded to their place in Chalan Laulau. It was then that she found her husband tied up and apparently dead. David said the wife called for help from neighbors.
Police have yet to identify any suspect and the motive behind the killing. David said probers are still investigating the case.
