KHS JROTC graduates 17 cadets from summer program
The JROTC of Kagman High School graduated 17 cadets from its Summer Leadership Course last Friday, July 1.
A small, but formal graduation ceremony was held at KHS cafeteria to recognize the cadets’ accomplishments.
On hand were several parents, KHS vice principle Mary Pangelinan, Senior Army Instructor SGM Kiyoshi from Saipan Southern High School, guests, and several JROTC cadets.
Cadet participants were Ralph Ascano, Tracy Babauta (distinguish graduate), Tito Bascon, Verena Cabrera, Michael Dela Rosa, Caleb Gatharngeg (most improved award), Byron Kaneshi, Ryan Kikku (leadership award), Glarisha Mabel, Olympia Marcelo, Benjamin Norita, Joe Norita, Eunice Ogumoro, Jonathan Pangelinan (honor graduate), Jesse Santos, Jasmine Sapong, and Waedynne Maratita.
Last June 20, KHS JROTC started its first summer leadership course to train, teach, and coach cadets. They completed a two-week, four-hours-per-day course, classes consisted of leadership principles, performance indicators, presenting skills, planning process, community service, counseling, drill and ceremonies, physical training, jums, and after action review; reinforce with discipline and attention to detail.
Part of the mission for JROTC is to develop training aligned with the mission of the JROTC, which is “to motivate young people to become better citizens.”
Constant teamwork was a key to the success of all cadets who attended the summer leadership course.
The KHS JROTC Program would like to express its gratitude to the Public School System, CNMI-MSU staff, KHS staff, parents, and Ayuyu Battalion cadets for their continued support.
