Help!!? Somebody, anybody…
I have worked in the private sector for several years now, yet the only things I see going up around me are prices of things I need to buy everyday, not the pay check.
The prices on most goods—everyday necessities—have been going up steadily over the years. The increase in these prices have been most marked recently with the increases in the price of gasoline and the CUC surcharge, both of these items have had a domino effect on the prices of everything…up, up, and away the prices have gone. Yet, here we are in the private sector with our take-home pay that won’t even take us across the street.
Help, somebody, anybody, as the song goes!
I read somewhere where the government is trying to grant a Cost Of Living Adjustment or COLA to its employees and former employees to fight increasing prices. This sure is nice. I wish private sector employers were more sensitive to their employees like the government is to its own employees.
In the private sector, COLA is just something to drink, when we can afford it.
Also, I wish creditors and collections would take these matter into consideration when considering loans and collection actions. I mean why kick somebody when they are already down? Don’t they know that a majority of people would like to be good customers but sometimes are just not able to be so because of inflation and increasing prices.
Also, isn’t there some kind of law that makes it illegal for creditors and collection agencies to contact employees in the workplace? This law is supposed to protect both the employee and employer.
