Attao garners awards

CNMI student Guadalupe Ninfa Tenorio Attao is making waves in her studies, making it to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars at the Boise State University in May this year.

Attao, the youngest of the six children of veteran congressman Jesus T. Attao and Ramona Tenorio Attao, graduated from Boise High School in May 2004 in the upper 10 percent of her senior class in academic achievements through seven semesters of 343 graduating students.

For her remarkable academic performance, Attao was awarded the Robert R. Lee Promise Scholarship and Gold B award for attaining a cumulative GPA above a 3.75 for seven semesters.

She graduated from Boise High with a weighted grade point average of 4.02. She was awarded top scholar award for 2003, member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Dean’s List for fall semester 2004 with a 3.87 GPA and spring semester 2005 with a 4.0 GPA at Boise State University.

Attao is majoring in psychology.

She is a member of the Boise State Polynesian Club Hui-O-Aloha, and is active in various socio-civic activities.

She participated in canned food drives and Rake Up Boise and a volunteer at the Learning Express and Retirement Home.

Attao enjoys reading, volleyball, writing, swimming and assisting with needy and unfortunate children and elderly during her free time.

Attao enrolled at Boise High School on Aug. 27, 2001 and graduated on May 27, 2004 with honors.

She is a recipient of the CNMI Honor Scholarship under Public Law 14-37 and the SHEFA under Local Law 13-21. (PR)
