Personalized service makes the difference
For five years now, Dolce Hair Mode Salon has provided beauty services not only to tourists but also local residents at the ritzy Hyatt Regency Saipan.
While the salon’s location could easily create an impression of it being very expensive, Dolce manager Mamoru Hatamata said their rates are actually competitive, as the salon has discounted rates for local residents.
Hatamata, a cosmetology graduate from Japan, actually started the Dolce venture in Garapan in 1993. He moved Dolce to its present location within Hyatt about five years ago.
“It is better than before,” Hatamata said.
Guests are given full attention when they visit Dolce, since services are reserved by appointment.
Hatamata said all their services are popular among their clients, including hotel guests and those visiting Hyatt to swim at the beach or dine at the SandCastle.
“In Saipan, the lifestyle and salty water cause hair to dry up,” Hatamata said. Dolce could easily revive the hair’s moisture, he added.
Dolce’s services include haircut, hair perming, conditioning, and rebonding, manicure and pedicure, among others. Hatamata said the salon uses special beauty products and cosmetics from Japan and the United States.
To update himself of the latest fads in hairstyling, Hatamata said he goes to Japan twice or thrice yearly to learn about new products and trendy styling through trade shows.
For appointments, Dolce can be reached at 233-2338 or 234-1234 Ext. 5700.
