Navy to conduct live fire exercises in FDM, Tinian

The Emergency Management Office, in conjunction with U.S. Naval Forces Marianas, would like to inform the general public that the U.S. Military Unit would be conducting Live Fire, Aerial Survey, and Helicopter Search and Rescue exercise on the island of Farallon De Mendenilla and Tinian.

The schedule dates and time are as follows:

July 25, 2005 8am-4pm Aerial Survey-FDM
July 26, 2005 11:30am-4pm Live Fire Training-FDM
July 27 to 31, 2005 7am-12am Live Fire Training-FDM
July 27, 2005 8pm-12am Helicopter Search and Rescue-Tinian
July 29, 2005 8pm-12am Helicopter Search and Rescue-Tinian
August 01 to 03, 2005 7am-12am Live Fire Training-FDM
August 02, 2005 8pm-12am Helicopter Search and Rescue-Tinian

The general location of these activity will be on the island of Farallon De Mendenilla Training Area (R7201) from 15,000 feet mean sea level (MSL) on a ten (10) nautical mile radius on all quadrants and Tinian North Field.

Due to the danger imposed by these activities, Gov. Juan N. Babauta is advising the general public, especially fishermen, commercial pilots, marine tour operators and residents to stay away from this location during the time and dates indicated.
