A businesswoman has sued an entertainment promoter and a disc jockey for allegedly not paying the rent for her sound system, which was used for a concert sometime in February.

Nora Nunez, who owns the R & A Sound Hire, filed a complaint with the Superior Court Wednesday, alleging nonpayment of rent against Jesus A. Rebusada and promoter Teresa C. Castro, who owns D.J. Services Promotions & Entertainment.

Documents submitted to the court showed that sound system was rented for a Saipan concert dubbed “Valentine’s with the Stars” in February.

Nunez’ attorney, S. Joshua Berger, said the trader and Castro signed a lease agreement in the amount of $3,500.

On Feb. 16, after the concert, Castro and Rebusada jointly signed a promissory note acknowledging a $3,500-debt, Berger said.

The lawyer said the defendants have failed to pay Nunez.

He asked the court to award monetary damages of $3,500 in favor of Nunez and against the defendants, as well as costs incidental to the court action.
