TINIAN—Saturday night last week found the Tinian Dynasty Casino having to turn away eager players for the Texas Hold ’em Poker Tournament, as both tables were already full by the 8pm kickoff—a sure sign this regular monthly event is growing in popularity.

With many new faces, the play was tight for the first hour but the urge to push all chips in became too strong for some and the casualties started to pile up.

The final three players revealed two veterans of previous events, Richard Farrell and Tony Evangelista, fighting it out with a final table newcomer, Chong Won of Saipan, for the top money.

Chong, who had to convince his wife he was made of the right stuff, took top honors, catching Evangelista with a straight on the river and leaving Farrell to round out with third place.
