The Department of Public Safety has apologized over its “sloppy investigation” on a burglary incident in As Perdido.

In response to the article published in the Saipan Tribune last Sunday, DPS spokeswoman Sgt. Catherine Sheu said the management at DPS is greatly concerned about the issue and apologizes on behalf of its subordinates to Hazel Tudela of As Perdido.

Sheu said that, on behalf of the DPS commissioner Santiago Tudela, the police force would ensure that the conduct displayed by the police—as described by Tudela—would not be tolerated. She said her case and the conduct of the police would be “dealt with” accordingly.

“Furthermore, management encourages others who may have been subjected to the same treatment to bring such concerns to its attention,” Sheu said.

Tudela’s house was burglarized by unidentified individuals last week and she has claimed that police investigation on her case was “sloppy and very disappointing.” (Marconi Calindas)
