A woman who was walking along Beach Road fell prey to a car-riding robber Tuesday morning, unsuspecting that the culprit would snatch away her purse.

Acting Department of Public Safety spokesman Eric David identified the victim as a certain Mrs. Li.

Citing preliminary police report, David said the victim was walking with a friend across the Harvest Store in San Antonio when a four-door sedan approached close, apparently readying for a right turn at the nearby intersection.

As the vehicle passed by at slow speed, a passenger on the right rear seat of the vehicle stuck out his body from the window and grabbed the woman’s purse. The vehicle then sped off and headed north.

David said the victim could not describe the vehicle well, including its license plate, due to poor lighting in the area.

Investigation, however, continues. As of yesterday, no new witness has surfaced yet to help ascertain the culprit’s identities.

David said the stolen purse contained important identification cards and cash worth $90.
