The Visitors Channel is now advertising and promoting its new programming at the Saipan International Airport, according to media consultant Andy Tidwell.

On the heels of its new programming that was launched on Aug. 1, Tidwell said The Visitors Channel is making another strong statement about its commitment to the tourism industry by giving itself prime exposure at the Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport.

The channel’s fresh programming features a lively mixture of tourist attractions and vignettes of local culture and lifestyles in the CNMI.

“Be sure to look for the new advertising in the baggage claim area when you return from your next trip,” said Tidwell.

The Visitors Channel vice president Laurie Peterka said the CNMI tourism industry is experiencing some remarkable changes and it has been a great challenge for them how to contribute to the Commonwealth’s continuing success.

“We are more committed than ever to the CNMI,” she said. “The visitor market is a vital part of this community and we will do all we can to support the industry.”

In addition to the enhancements already made this year, Tidwell said The Visitors Channel will launch a new website on Oct. 1. One of the several highlights of the website would be the ability to access the Visitors Channel programming via the web, allowing visitors to learn more about the Marianas islands prior to leaving home.

“We are growing in a great and positive way! Be sure to keep looking for lots of new and innovative ideas from The Visitors Channel. We’ve only just begun,” said Peterka.

The Visitors Channel recently acquired a brand new studio and filming equipment, said Tidwell. He said the new equipment would allow the station to make changes to the programming more regularly.

Peterka earlier said that the channel has been using the skills and talents of new graduates at the Northern Marianas College’s Film Department. She commended some very talented people on the island and expressed support to local businesses by employing local talents.

The Visitors Channel can be found on MCV channel 3 on Saipan and channel 28 on Guam.
