Load Shedding Schedule

Three of the eight generators at Saipan’s primary power plant are under repair. If the weather remains cool and if customers can be part of the solution by using only one household air conditioner or a fan and conserve all other energy, the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. will do everything in its power to keep electricity on for all of the eight electrical grids or feeders. However, if the temperature rises and customers turn on more air conditioners, this will force CUC into a weekend load shedding schedule as follows:

SUNDAY, AUGUST 28, 2005

9am – 11am: Kiya 2 – 2nd Partial – Areas affected are Chalan Kanoa District 3 (including WSR Elementary School), and portions of Districts 1 and 2, Tun Doi Road, Fina Sisu, portions of As Perdido, Chalan Piao and San Antonio

11am – 1pm: Feeder 2 – 2nd Partial – Areas affected are Garapan Beach Road (including Kristo Rai Church) and Chalan Laulau (Beach Road)

1pm – 3pm: Kiya 4 – 2nd Partial – Areas affected are Susupe (including Saipan Community School) and portions of Chalan Kanoa Districts 2, 3 and 4 (including Sister Remedio School)

3pm – 5pm: Feeder 3 – 2nd Partial – Areas affected are Gualo Rai, Chalan Laulau, portions of China Town and As Falipe

5pm – 7pm: Feeder 4 – 2nd and 3rd Partials – Areas affected are portions of Capitol Hill, Mt. Tapochao, Talofofo, Agag, As Teo, Papago, Kagman area (including schools) and Kagman I, II, III

7pm – 9pm: Kiya 1 – 3rd Partial – Areas affected are CPA Airport, Koblerville (including Koblerville Elementary, Saipan Southern High School and Koblerville Subdivision), As Perdido, As Gonno and portions of Afetnas
