To welcome the daily flight service between Osaka and the Marianas, the Marianas Visitors Authority, in cooperation with Northwest Airlines, has come up with various promotional plans and marketing activities to promote the CNMI. The flights will begin on Oct. 1, 2005.

Activities included the Marianas Seminar, which was held on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005 at the Hotel Monterey Grasser House. Approximately 50 travel agents and media attended the seminar to gain more knowledge about the destination. MVA and Northwest Airlines conducted presentations educating travel agents of what the Marianas–Saipan, Tinian and Rota offer to their customers.

The MVA will be conducting a press conference on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005 at the Governor’s office conference room at 10:30am to officially announce the new flight service between Osaka and Saipan. Gov. Juan N. Babauta, representatives from MVA, together with Northwest Airlines, will be present at the conference.

Lastly,, on Sept. 14, 2005, Northwest Airlines will host a Launch Party to celebrate its new route between Osaka to Saipan and Osaka to Guam at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Osaka. MVA managing director Vicky Benavente will be attending the function to show that MVA is committed to support this route.
