Members of the Saipan and Fil-Taga golf associations will spend two days competing at a friendship level.

The event, dubbed as the SGA-Fil-Taga Friendship Tournament, kicks off today as about 50 golfers—half from each association—will engage in best ball competition at the Lao Lao Bay golf Resort west course.

According to Fil-Taga president Ted Malaran, show time is at 10am while tee time is set for 11:56am.

The contest resumes next Sunday, Sept. 11 at the Kingfisher Golf Links, as golfers will switch to Match Play. Show and tee times to be announced soon.

“This two-day event is a Ryder Cup type of event,” Malaran said.

Each player must pay a fee of $110, which will cover the two days of golf including green fee and the banquet to be held on the evening of Sept. 11 at the Aqua Resort Club.

Awards will presented during the banquet, which will also feature raffle drawings for prizes.
