SGA-FIL-TAGA CUP RESUMES THIS SUNDAY
The Saipan Golfers Association and Fil-Taga Golfers Association will resume play in the SGA-FilTaga Cup this Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Kingfisher Golf Links, with tee time set for 10:30am. An awards banquet will be held later that evening from 6pm to 11:30pm at the Aqua Resort Club’s Rey Lounge. Raffle prizes will also be given away during the banquet.

NMITF ENTICER ON SEPT. 17
The Northern Marianas Islands Triathlon Federation will hold the second event of the 2005 Enticer Series on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Pau Pau Beach in Marpi to double the distances from the first race in August.
At 8am the swimmers will take to the waters for the 400m shallow ocean swim before transitioning to the 8km bike ride and the 2km run.
The returning triathletes will get a chance to return to the competitive scene by challenging the 600m swim, 16km bike, and 4km run of the third round of Enticer fun a month later on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 15.
The Enticer/Sprint Series events are all adult races, and while entrants must be 14 years of age or older, those between the ages of 14-18 must have a signed parental consent.
The cost to participate in all of the Sprint/Enticer races is $5 for NMITF members and $10 for non-members. The cost of an annual membership is $25.

NMIFA EVALUATION ON SEPT. 17
The Northern Mariana Islands Football (Soccer) Association will hold an evaluation for all players who will compete in the upcoming 2005 season on Sept. 17, a Saturday.
NMIFA secretary general Peter Coleman said that some 250 players will take part in the evaluation, which begins at 4:30pm at the American Memorial Park.
Coleman said that players will be notified about the rosters of the teams a week later. Shortly after, Coleman said the action will begin as the 2005 season will get underway.
Soccer practices are held on Tuesday afternoons at 4:30pm in the AMP, and the highly anticipated games will be held on Saturday afternoons at 4:30pm at the same location.

MINI GAMES BANQUET ON SEPT. 14
The special recognition ceremony for medalists and delegates of the recent 2005 Palau South Pacific Mini Games would be held on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Saipan Grand Hotel.
During its monthly meeting at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium conference room last month, the Northern Marianas Amateur Sports Association decided that it will hold the ceremony in honor of the athletes, coaches, and officials that made up the CNMI delegation to Palau, as well as individuals who assisted the delegation.
NMASA recently recognized all medalists as athletes of the month for July, and gave honorable mention to all participating CNMI athletes.
Among the medalists were swimmers Nina Mosley, Nicole Calvo, Amanda Johnson, Myana Welch, Minerva Cabrera, Rezne Wong, David Palacios, Juan Camacho, and Michael Camacho; wrestler Joe Ocampo; table tennis players Budhi Gurung, Su Yong Dong, Chen Yin Ling, and Steve Lim; and triathletes Stephan Samoyloff, Anneka Sakovich, Dirk Sharer, Ketson “Jack” Kabiriel, and Natasha Good. Melissa Coleman also made it to the elite list, medaling as a swimmer and triathlete.
Honorable mention for the monthly NMASA plum went to members of the baseball, men’s and women’s fast pitch softball, athletics, tennis, outrigger canoeing, and beach volleyball teams.
CLUB AT THE HYATT GOLF CLASSIC ON OCT. 15
The Club at the Hyatt Golf Classic would be held on Oct. 15 at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort west course.
Just like last year, the tournament holds a 4-person best-ball scramble format that evens the odds for the sub-par without handicapping the best of the best.
The registration time at the course is 6:30am followed by a 7:25am shotgun start, and the cost to swing with the kings is $95 for Club Elan members and $110 for non-members
In addition to driving, pitching, and putting around the links, the Hyatt is teaming up with the Laolao staff to host the first fun run on the course a day before the tournament on Friday, Oct. 14. The 5km journey down the fairways is open to the entire family, and kids are encouraged to join their parents for the sunset run.
The first time event will begin with registration and check-in at 4:45pmfollowed by the 5:15pm run time. The cost to participate in the course run is $5 for children and $10 for adults.

HIGH SCHOOL ROCBALL COMING SOON
Action on the Rocball court will soon make a return, with all the kees, goals, and xunks expected to begin hitting the stat sheets this month.
Rocball founder and coordinator of all World Organized Rocball activities James Feger said that the WOR High School League is already being organized.
All interested individuals are encourage to begin organizing teams and prepping for the start of the competition.
As in the past, no entrance fee is required.
All matches will be held at the Marianas High School Gymnasium or the school’s Green Court located just north of the gym.
