The Division of Environmental Quality is advising residents of Kagman, Papago, San Vicente, and Lau Lau that it will be conducting onsite sewage disposal system inspections beginning today.

DEQ spokeswoman Reina Camacho said the homeowners should prepare and are requested to cooperate with DEQ officials visiting their areas.

She said homeowners would be asked basic questions relating to their discharging methods, vegetation growth, population of domesticated animals, and proper connections to a waste disposal system.

Camacho said this project aims to gather information on the condition of existing sewage disposal systems and record GIS coordinates of the systems throughout the Commonwealth.

The OSDS inspections will be held in conjunction with the Lau Lau Bay Watershed survey. For more information on the scheduled inspections, contact DEQ Wastewater branch manager Romy Urbien at 664-8500.
