San Antonio downs Bwibwiis, 53-40
San Antonio used its experience over newcomer Bwibwiis to exit from the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium with a 53-40 victory as action in the 2005 Saipan Rotary Club Summer Youth Basketball League continued Wednesday.
San Antonio did not need to have a player finish in double figures as all members of team contributed his fair share of points to bag the win.
The team shared the ball well in the first half while putting up a respectable stand defensively to control the game at the break with a 10-point breathing room, 28-18.
The trend carried over to the second half, as the unselfish play continued. Preston Basa nailed a triple to get San Antonio’s charge started and the team went on cruise control to finish the game on a high note.
The Bwibwiis played pretty well in the second half and hung tough before falling short.
Robert Palacios led San Antonio with nine points, while Josh Sablan and Bill Babauta punched in eight points apiece.
Fred Litulimar, Darrel Moteisou, and Mavrick Saures each had eight points to pace the Bwibwiis.
Rotary action continued yesterday with the Matansa Sparks battling Hoops and the San Antonio Sixers II testing Toyota Camry. Results were not available as of press time.
