ASVAB TESTS TODAY
The U.S. Army Reserve Center in Puerto Rico would be conducting an Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test today, Sept. 24, at 7:30am and 1:30pm.
High school graduates, high school seniors, those with a GED, or active duty applicants between the ages of 17-34 are welcome to take the ASVAB test.
Army Reserve Applicants ages 17-39 must be a citizen of the U.S., FSM, Palau, or have an 1-551 (permanent resident card).

PRESENTATIONS ON CAMPAIGN FINANCE AND REPORTING SET ON TINIAN, ROTA
The Office of the Public Auditor will be conducting presentations on campaign finance and reporting on the islands of Tinian and Rota. The dates and times for each of the presentations are as follows:
Tinian: Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, 9am-12pm at the Northern Marianas College Tinian Campus
Rota: Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, 5pm-7pm at Sunset Villa- Rota
Given the statutory restrictions relating to campaign spending and reporting, all candidates and their treasurers are strongly urged to attend. To reserve a seat, please call OPA at 322-6481/2.
‘JUST SAY NO TO DRUGS’ RAP CONTEST AT GIG
Saipan’s premier party place, GIG, and Coca Cola are inviting high school students from different schools to join the solo rap competition with the theme “Just Say No to Drugs,” as a highlight of the TeenJam, which was launched last Sept. 17. The weekly Saturday teen disco is open to high school students from 5:30pm to 9pm.
Each contestant must deliver his/her rap piece for a minimum of three minutes and not more than five minutes.
Criteria for judging are:
• Content – 30 percent
• Delivery – 25 percent
• Body Movement – 20 percent
• Audience Impact – 25 percent
The weekly winner will qualify for the Grand Finals this coming December. Contestants are required to submit the typewritten lyrics of their rap piece and their own music background or beats.
For students who want to join the weekly solo dance contest, you are advised to bring your own CD material.
Contestants will be judged under the following criteria: creativity in choreography, rhythm and style, execution and audience impact.

The Saipan and Northern Islands Soil and Water Conservation District would like to inform the general public of their monthly meeting next Tuesday, Oct. 4, 1:30pm at the Natural Resources Conservation Service Office.

SSHS MEETING ON SEPT. 29
The Saipan Southern High School would be holding a Parent-Teachers Association meeting next Thursday, Sept. 29, 6:30pm at the school’s cafeteria. Parents and legal guardians of students currently enrolled at SSHS are requested to attend the PTA meeting.

• As a result of school days missed due to Typhoon Nabi, make-up days are as follows: Nov. 1, Dec. 22 and 23 (There will be classes on these days).
• Open House/Report Card Distribution will be on Wednesday, Oct. 19 (4-6pm).
• Community Council Meeting (also known as PTA) will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 6pm, in the school cafeteria.

FRAMINGHAM MASTERAL PROGRAM NOW OPEN
The Community Development Institute said that registration is now open for cohorts 3 and 4 for the Framingham State College Master of Education elective course Computers in Education. Registration is ongoing through Oct. 7.
