Satur, Kapileo rule RGA Best Ball
Tony Satur and Ed Kapileo went home about $300 richer Saturday after topping the Refaluwasch Golf Association’s Best Ball Tournament Saturday at the Laolao Golf Resort west course.
The one-two Refaluwasch punch combined to fire a gross score of 3-under par 69, and their combined 14.5 handicap enabled them to shave off almost 15 strokes off their gross for a 54.5 net score to take first place.
Finishing in second place was the dynamic duo of Sasaki Oliver and Sonny Flores, who joined forces to shoot a 4-under 68. Their eight handicap lowered their score as they finished with a net of 60.
Jess Wabol and Nick Sablan also finished with a net score of 60, however, they settled for third due to the scorecard tiebreaker. The two posted the best gross score with an 8-under par 64. The two combined for a 4 handicap.
Joe “Kamikaze” Camacho and Louie Tilipao finished fourth with a net score of 60.5. The two shot a 4-under par 68 and posted a 7.5 handicap.

With their second-place finish, Oliver and Flores received $150, while Jess Wabol and Sablan went home with $50.
Satur and Kapileo also hit the ball closest to the pin on hole No. 3, while Sablan and Jess Wabol did the same on hole No. 13.
According to RGA president Jess Wabol, the pairings were done via raffle. Handicaps of players in each pair were added then divided by two to come up with the pair’s handicap for the tournament.
