19 teams sign up for Corporate Challenge
Nineteen teams have signed up to compete in the Saipan Chamber of Commerce’s annual Corporate Challenge for Education this Sunday, Oct. 2, at American Memorial Park’s Micro Beach.
This promises to be an exciting event, as teams compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes, as well as the overall “Team Spirit Award.”
The Chamber sponsors the annual Corporate Challenge as a fundraiser for its Education Scholarship Fund. Each year the Chamber provides scholarships in the amount of $2,500 to at least four deserving local high school seniors who are going on to college.
This is one way the business community, through the Chamber, supports education of local youth and contributes to the CNMI workforce of tomorrow.
Teams will engage in five games—an egg toss, an obstacle course relay, a water game, a race, and the ever-popular “fear factor” eating contest. Details of the games remain a secret until the day of the Challenge—but everyone is guaranteed to get wet!
Team members must be at Micro Beach by 9am for sign-in and a team captains’ meeting, with warm-up exercises and the games will start at 9:30am. Pacific Island Club’s Jon Cramer will again be the emcee for this popular event.
Teams participating in this year’s Corporate Challenge include Triple J Wholesale; D&Q Saipan; Coca-Cola Beverage Company; Dai-ichi Hotel Saipan Beach; PIC; PacifiCare; Moylan’s Insurance; Marianas Visitors Authority; CTSI Logistics MELL Team; Saipan Stevedore; Hertz; DFS Saipan; Triple J Motors; Hyatt Regency Saipan; World Resort Hotel; Saipan Shipping; Matson; Pacific Trading Co.; and Hardt Eye Clinic.
Businesses which have donated the great prizes for the winners are: MVA; Saipan Sunset Cruise; PIC; Hyatt; Dai-ichi; Paradise Island Chiropractic Clinic; Verizon; Aquarius Hotel; Aqua Resort Club, Hard Rock Café; Tony Roma’s; and Northern Marianas College. (PR)
