Municipal council honors 2005 Little Miss Marianas contestants, organizers

The 8th Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council has adopted a series of resolutions congratulating the 2005 Little Miss Marianas and the organizing committee for the successful staging of the contest.

The 2005 Little Miss Marianas Beauty Pageant was held June 25 this year at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.

Kaylyn S. Celis, a 2nd grader at the William S. Reyes Elementary School, was crowned 2005 Little Miss Marianas. She was also named 2005 Little Miss Marianas Radiance and captured the Special Awards for Best in Talents, Best in Evening Gown and Fantasy Costume. Celis is the daughter of the proud parents Frank and Judy Celis.

Aldreen T. Adriano, a 4th grader at the Grace Christian Academy, was named 2005 Little Miss Marianas Princess, 2005 Little Miss Marianas Achievement and 2005 Little Miss Marianas Friendship. She is the daughter of proud parents Joey and Geraldine Cruz.

Other winners were San Vicente Elementary School 3rd grader Angelica Samson Roman, who was named 2005 Little Miss Marianas Leadership; Miss Riselle Iris Capino Leong, 2nd grader, Golden Harvest International School, who was named 2005 Little Miss Marianas Learning; and Miss Malena M. Hofschneider, 3rd grader, Tinian Elementary School, who was named 2005 Little Miss Marianas Empowerment.

Roman is the daughter of Willy and Angela Roman; Leong is the daughter of Richard and Essel Leong; and Hofschneider is the daughter of Ms. Tania Marie Mendiola.

The 2005 Little Miss Marianas Beauty Pageant was highlighted by the presence of Miss Teen CNMI Davina M. Dela Cruz and Miss CNMI World Tracy Lynn D. Del Rosario.

The event’s organizing committee included Cherlyn Cabrera, pageant director; Anna Glushkos, pageant choreographer; Esther Milne and Carlene Tenorio, candidate recruitment; Jennifer Aguon and Marites Yumul, venue and entertainment; Laila Y. Boyer, PR, program and sponsorship; MHS Radio Club, sound and lighting; Clyde Lemons and Joe Taijeron, security; Michelle Lin and Edward Manglona, theme and stage; Frankie Eliptico, criteria and judging; Tricia Tudela, tickets and reception; and Jojo Alepuyo and Bill Bezzant, video and photos.

The 2005 Little Miss Marianas panel of judges were Matt Deets, Bertha Leon Guerrero, Jean Sablan, Eric Evangelista and Tina Palacios.

“The members of the Municipal Council and the people of the CNMI are extremely proud to extend a sincere and heartfelt recognition, congratulation and commendation to [everyone] for a job well done in making the 2005 Little Miss Marianas Beauty Pageant a grand success. Also, members of the Municipal Council are extremely gratified to extend special…commendation to the 2005 Little Miss Marianas Committee…for their…assistance in promoting the development and growth of our Little Miss Marianas Beauty Pageant and for rendering their exemplary contributions and services to this worthy endeavor that ended successfully,” part of the resolution reads.

The 2005 Little Miss Marianas Beauty Pageant sponsors included Pena House Boutique, Marianas Visitors Authority, Ponds, Dove, Suave, Shell, M.A.C., Island Floral and Gifts, Joeten Motors, Glushkos Academy of Performing Arts, Younis Art Studio Publisher of Marianas Variety.

The resolutions was certified by municipal council chair Gregorio V. Deleon Guerrero and vice chair David A. Indalecio and attested by secretary Antonia M. Tudela. (PR)
